A Sustainable Design Studio
About the Studio
Known in the past as just WAG-ARCH.COM, Wagging Tail Designs established in 2009 as a design studio that originally focused on dog dwellings. Since then, it has expanded its design/consulting services to include areas described as eco-design and eco-landscape, both of which respectfully connect us to the natural environment and its eco-systems.
Various avenues of sustainable practices and design occur at Wagging Tail Designs: transformation studies of consumer waste by-products to alternative building materials/furnishings-reducing the use of virgin resources; passive energy design in architecture; site-specific dog dwellings; environmental educational videos; organic edible garden and water-saving landscapes, and the practice of seed saving. This last practice allows one to observe and appreciate the life cycle: seed to food transformation. Year after year, enjoy a fresh and healthy harvest from a VERY local place...HOME.
About the Designer
The studio is lead by architect Patricia Ruiz. A graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with over 15 years of architectural experience encompassing the design, documentation, and construction phases of the practice. In 2012, Patricia became an active member of SLOLA, a non-profit seed library organization in Venice, California, and in 2014, started serving as the Library Chair for the following 2 years. Her creativity also expressed in freehand drawings, cooking, woodwork, jewelry and product design.
